Foundation Masters LLC offers a beautiful residential bridge option: the FM-H20 firetruck-rated residential bridge. This steel girder, timber deck bridge is firetruck-rated (homeowner’s insurance requirement) with a maximum span of up to 60 feet and a 20-ton bridge deck capacity. The FM-H20 abutments are protected with vinyl sheet piles driven 60 inches below the mud line, ensuring erosion will never be an issue—an essential feature since erosion is the leading cause of bridge failure for residential bridges in Florida. The supporting foundation system (FM-PP330) comprises four 3-inch Schedule 40 pipe piles, each with a 30-ton capacity driven to the limestone bed. The FM-H20 bridge abutments have an 80-ton capacity with a 2:1 safety factor and come with a lifetime warranty.

Engineering & Construction of Residential and Light-Commercial Bridges
Building a reliable bridge starts with understanding the site’s geotechnical profile — soil bearing capacity, groundwater depth, and erosion risk. In much of Florida and the Southeast, bearing capacities range from 1,500–3,500 psf, while seasonal water tables can rise to within 3–6 feet of the surface, creating uplift forces and long-term settlement potential. Hydrostatic pressure on abutments can exceed 250–350 psf during flood events, and poorly protected banks can erode at rates over 2 inches per year if left untreated. Our engineering process begins with soil borings, load testing, and hydrologic modeling to design safe, code-compliant structures that last decades.
Foundation Masters LLC fabricates bridges with structural steel girders, timber or composite decking, and deep foundation systems such as FM-PP330 pipe piles driven to limestone for 30-ton per pile capacity. Abutments are vinyl sheet pile protected to depths of 60 inches below the mud line and engineered with 80-ton capacity (2:1 safety factor). Our FM-H20 bridge series meets firetruck H-20 loading — 20-ton deck capacity with spans up to 60 feet — a requirement for many insurers and local fire codes. Prices start at approximately $3,300 per linear foot, making them one of the most cost-effective long-life residential bridge solutions available.
