Push Pier Cost: What Foundation Pier Repair Really Costs
Comparing push pier prices? Compare the scope first. What drives the price of push pier foundation repair, what a fair quote includes, and how to compare two proposals that look nothing alike.

Push Pier Cost at a Glance
National foundation repair price guides commonly put steel push piers at roughly $1,000 to $4,000 per pier installed. The wide range is real. Depth, access, region, engineering and permits all move the number.
The price per pier is only half the story. The total depends on how many piers your house needs, and that number should come from an engineer looking at your foundation, not from a sales sheet. Every Foundation Masters push pier project is designed under our Florida engineering firm (Certificate of Authorization CA 30969), with Andre Hawks, P.E. as Engineer of Record.

What Drives the Price
Number of piers
The biggest factor. Piers are commonly spaced every 6 to 8 feet along the settling walls, so the length of the problem sets the count.
Depth to firm soil
Florida piers can stop at 10 feet or go past 40. Every extra section of steel adds cost, which is why fixed depth quotes are a guess.
Access
Pools, patios, landscaping, tight side yards and slab interiors all add labor. Interior piers through a slab cost more than exterior piers.
Lift
Stabilizing a house costs less than lifting it back toward level, which takes more time, more monitoring and more care.
Engineering and permits
Sealed drawings, permit fees and inspections are part of a real repair. Some quotes leave them out to look cheaper.
Restoration
Replacing pavers, sod, irrigation and finishes after the work, and repairing cracks that close during lift, can be in or out of the price.
How to Compare Two Push Pier Quotes
Two proposals that are thousands of dollars apart are usually not quoting the same job. Line them up side by side on these points.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Pier count and locations on a plan | Fewer piers can look cheaper while leaving part of the wall unsupported. |
| Depth assumption | A low fixed depth looks cheap until the change order for extra sections arrives. |
| Engineer named and drawings included | Without engineering, nobody is responsible for the design. |
| Bracket type | A bracket bolted to a cut back footing does not carry load the same way as one set under the wall. |
| Permit included | Unpermitted foundation work can surface when the house is sold. |
| Lift promised | Know whether you are paying to stabilize or to lift, and how much. |
| Warranty terms | Read the exclusions and the transfer conditions, not just the word lifetime. |

When a Cheaper Repair Is the Right Repair
Not every crack needs piers. Some movement is minor, some is drainage, and some is old settlement that has already stopped. A foundation inspection tells you whether the house is still moving before you spend money on underpinning. When piers are needed but a push pier is the wrong fit, helical piers or a driven FM-PP30 may cost less or perform better. See push piers vs helical piers.

Lifetime Transferable Warranty
Our pier and pile systems are backed by the Foundation Masters Lifetime Transferable Warranty for the life of the structure. No fine print, and it transfers when you sell.
Push Pier Cost: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a push pier cost?
National foundation repair price guides commonly put steel push piers at roughly $1,000 to $4,000 per pier installed, depending on depth, access and region. The total for a house depends far more on how many piers are needed and how deep they go than on the price per pier.
How many push piers does a house need?
It depends on the length of the settling walls, the weight of the structure and the soil. Piers are commonly spaced every 6 to 8 feet along the affected walls, so a corner repair may need a handful while a full side of a house can need a dozen or more. The engineer sets the count.
Why are push pier quotes so different between companies?
Quotes differ because the scopes differ. Pier count, assumed depth, whether engineering and permits are included, interior piers, and how much lift is promised all change the price. Compare what each proposal includes, not just the bottom line.
Is engineering included in a Foundation Masters push pier price?
Yes. Engineering oversight is included in our underpinning projects, and our price match covers qualifying written proposals with a comparable scope.
Does insurance cover push pier foundation repair?
Most homeowner policies exclude ordinary settlement, though some cover sinkhole or catastrophic ground cover collapse. Check your policy and talk with your agent. An engineering report helps either way.
